Astrocartography
Planetary lines on the map of the Earth — places where a given planet stood at a distinguished point in the sky at the moment of your birth. Six modes answer different questions about place.
What is astrocartography?
Astrocartography transfers your birth chart onto a world map. For each planet it finds the places on Earth where, at the moment of your birth, it was rising (the ASC line), setting (DSC), at its highest point (MC) or directly beneath you (IC). Near such a line the planet's themes sound louder — with Venus, relationships and beauty; with Saturn, responsibility and structure.
Every line has a range in kilometres: it works most strongly close to the line and more weakly further away — on the map you see this as a brighter and a darker band. 9dom.pl shows the lines in several modes: your lines, “Where it supports me” and “What to avoid” (judged by how each planet works in your chart), a map of the current planetary period, a map of the moment and a birthday map.
A place doesn't change who you are — but it can amplify what is already in you. That is why astrocartography helps when choosing where to move, study, work or travel.
Frequently asked questions
What do the MC, IC, ASC and DSC lines mean?
MC — career and how the world sees you. IC — home, roots and a sense of security. ASC — body, energy and way of being. DSC — relationships and partners. Whether a line supports you depends on the planet and its strength in your chart.
How far from a line does its influence reach?
Within about 150 km of the line the influence is maximal — the planet’s themes dominate daily life. From 150 to 500 km it is strong to moderate, from 500 to 700 km weak and subtle, and beyond 700 km the line no longer acts directly. We show the distance to every line when you click it.
Do I need my exact birth time?
Yes — here it matters more than in an ordinary chart. Four minutes of difference move the lines by about one degree of longitude, i.e. several dozen kilometres. If your time is uncertain, treat the position of the lines as approximate.
Do difficult lines mean I shouldn't go there?
No. A demanding place brings out themes you are working on anyway. It can be good for a short, conscious stay, and works less well as a place to live permanently.
How is astrocartography different from the local space map?
Astrocartography shows where in the world planets grow stronger. The local space map shows in which direction from your place they lie — useful for choosing a direction within a city or country.
